Kirkland Lake Commemorative Plaque

Title: Kirkland Lake Commemorative Plaque, bronze artwork at Toburn Mine site
Source: Toburn Operating Authority
This large bronze plaque was designed and created by Cesar Feraro, and later installed at the Toburn Mine site. It lists the many mines of the Kirkland Lake Mining Camp area, as well as the depths of the deepest mine (over 8,000 ft deep).
Many newcomers to Kirkland Lake found work in the mines, and the image in the centre plaque shows this journey and the sacrifices they made to make Kirkland Lake their home.
