National Geographic mentions gold boom of Kirkland Lake

The original article from 1932 that appeared in National Geographic was printed word-for-word in a 1960s edition of the Northern Daily News. This includes some of the derogatory terms used to describe immigrant peoples at the time.

The National Geographic contributor was an American journalist, but it is unknown how much of the experience outlined in his article was embellished for the sake of his readers.
