The Kirkland Lake Song
Title: The Kirkland Lake Song
Recorded 2010 at the Kirkland Lake Campus of Northern College
Source: Corporation of the Town of Kirkland Lake
Not every community can claim to have its own theme song, but the Kirkland Lake Song was composed in the town’s early days.
The local Interlink Choir, made up of seniors and children from the community, performed a version of the song using only the chorus during their 2010 concert at the Northern College Auditorium.

Kirkland Lake Song
There’s a town away up north of Cobalt
That is world famous for its gold.
The spirit there is just the same, I’ll tell you,
As when men discovered it in days of old.
Chorus:
Well! What do you know
We’re from Kirkland Lake
We’re the Boys
And we’re the Girls
Who always give and take;
It’s a real town, a gold town
We’re in it with a stake,
We come from near
We come from far
To good old Kirkland Lake.
Now we think a lot of Cobalt
And Porcupine is great,
But here’s to the pride of the
Whole wide North –
Here’s to Kirkland Lake!
