All along the river
The trees will have seen it all
The trees will have seen it all
All along the river.
Rapids in prayer
And many newcomers
From Sault-au-Récollet
To blooming promenades
Passersby on public benches
Drawing hopscotch courts
In pink, and chalk, and skies
Memories of Ahuntsic
In the neighbourhood parks
The trembling aspens
Yesterday and tomorrow sing
In soil and silences
The trembling aspens
Leaves of music in the wind
Yesterday and tomorrow sing
The future as on a score.
All along the river
The trees will have seen it all
The trees will have seen it all
All along the river.
