To the left: an oil portrait, presumed to be a representation of Pehr Kalm, painted in 1764 by J. G. Geitel, drawing professor at the Åbo Akademi, a Swedish-speaking Finnish university, located in the city of Turku. Some researchers believe the painting to be a representation not of Pehr Kalm, but of his friend Pehr Gadd.
