Here’s a poster advertising a Jesse Winchester show at the Yellow Door. A photograph from that concert is also included in this exhibit.
This concert dates from the very beginning of Jesse Winchester’s career, when he had just found a fertile haven in Montreal as an American draft-dodger and folk musician. The Yellow Door, like The New Penelope, was part of the coffeehouse circuit where Jesse played before his meteoric rise to fame, which eventually included performing at Montreal’s prestigious Place des Arts concert hall.
