Here are The Cavemen in action at The New Penelope on Stanley Street in 1966.
Member Richard “Bossman” Johnson recalls the band playing regularly at The Cavern, a large dance club on Mountain Street. That venue could accommodate as many as 400 people. At one such show after they ended their set, two young men in trenchcoats approached the band and congratulated them on their performance. They were none other than Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, who had played a concert at The Forum nearby that night.
