Muddy Waters was one of the first blues performers to move to Chicago from the American South, bringing his acoustic blues music to the big city. Once in Chicago, he took up the electric guitar and recorded seminal blues songs for the Chess record label. He may be best known for having written the song Rollin’ Stone in 1950, which inspired the name of the British band The Rolling Stones.
