1998 Beethoven Run

The Beat Beethoven Runs inspired runners to raise money for the NSO.  With the symphony on the bandshell stage of Montebello Park, the first downbeat of Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 launched sponsored participants on a 5k run.  The challenge was to complete the course and return to Montebello Park before the end of the music – to “beat Beethoven”!  Of course, many people simply brought chairs and enjoyed the glorious music – then cheered the runners on their return.
