Mitchell Bernstein (left) came to Saint John in the 1920s as a film distributor and with his business partner, Joshua Lieberman (right) created B and L Theatres, which operated 13 movie theaters in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Maine from the 1930s to the 1950s. They were distributors for Columbia Pictures.
