These course notes show the type of teachings Gendreau received at the University of Paris where he studied science and medicine. On the document, one can read the necessary manipulations to reproduce the Jamin mirrors experiment in a laboratory setting. They reference the positioning of the mirrors and burners as shown in the technical drawing.
