This massive photograph – originally measuring three by four feet, and with a hand-painted background – shows the entire staff of the McLaughlin Carriage Company in 1895, as well as its original Oshawa factory (bottom left) and the home of Robert McLaughlin (bottom right). The image was assembled from a collage of 109 separate portraits, all taken on the same day.
