The McLaughlin Carriage Hockey Club, winner of the 1905–1906 Ontario Hockey League season, was the immediate predecessor of the GM-funded Oshawa Generals OHL team, which exists to this day. The Generals’ most notable player was hockey great Bobby Orr, who started playing for the team in 1962.
