Rosie in Assembly at the Museum of Natural History

When reconstructing an animal, scientists don’t always have every single part of the skeleton. In cases like these, resin is used to fill in the missing parts and complete the skeleton so that scientists have a more complete picture of the organism they’re studying.
Rosie the walrus was one of these cases– In this newspaper photo, you can see her in the workshop in Ottawa in which she was assembled.
