This newspaper article is a book review about the romance of Lake Superior as iron country. The journalist makes mention of two chapters of interest for Canadian both of which are connected to Sault Ste. Marie. The first describes the construction of the canal in 1855 and the second narrates the history of Clergue industries. The journalist quotes the author of the book, who calls Clergue, “the great industrial captain of Sault Ste. Marie.”
