The residence, luxurious for its time, was located near the train station and thus the railway. The train was one of the means of transportation used by Alfred and his network to distribute alcohol. Shipments of alcohol were regularly hidden in the wagons. Cars and planes were also extensively used. Azarie Piuze, known for being one of Alfred’s main employees, even came to own Temiscouata Air Transport and Co, Ltd. a company with its headquarters in Notre-Dame-du-Lac, where Alfred owned an imposing summer residence.
