The parish priests of Rivière-Bleue from 1913 to 1932.
Corporation du Patrimoine de Rivière-Bleue.
Despite the fact that the parish priests were opposed to everything related to alcohol, they did not refuse the smugglers’ numerous donations. In the archives of the Fabrique de Saint-Joseph-de-la- Rivière-Bleue, three bazaars are cited, among others. At the first, Alfred Lévesque spent $2,000 (a fortune at that time!), $500 at the second and $400 at the third. At the latter, in 1921, he paid $150 in an auction for a large basket that he himself had bought in Montreal and which he wanted to give to his wife.
