Township of Langley Council minute book for 1896-1899

Philip Jackman was Reeve of Langley from 1895-1897 inclusive. The municipal books and papers, including the council’s minutes, of Jackman’s first year as Reeve were destroyed in a fire on December 27, 1895, which was caused by a faulty lamp.
