The Shortreed’s Store, ca. 1895

The store is a large wooden building with a front patio that leads to the front door that has a window on each side of it. There are two additional doors visible along the back right side of the building.

Robert Shortreed homesteaded and opened his store on the corner of what was then called Yale and County Line Roads, (now Fraser Highway and 264th Street). The Shortreed Store, which ran until 1905, also operated as a post office and a telegraph office.
