Church of St. John the Divine, ca. 1960
Langley Centennial Museum, #4796.
This church was designed by Reverend William B. Crickmer and built by the Royal Engineers at Derby in 1859. It is the only Derby building from that period that still exists. Its time there was short lived; the first service was held on May 8, 1859 and the last entry in the church register was January 8, 1860. In the fall of 1882, it was dismantled and floated across the Fraser River to Maple Ridge.
