Early view of New Westminster, between 1862 and 1866

A sepia toned photograph of a man canoeing on the Fraser River in front of a recently deforested New Westminster. New Westminster has multiple buildings along the river, but the buildings become scarcer further up the hill. The upper portion of the hill is littered with tree stumps.
