Four dig units
Archéo-Mamu Côte-Nord
The material seen under wood pieces on the right hand side of the picture is geotextile. Sheets of this material is often put on the ground by archaeologists to indicate that a section of a site has already been dug. They do so because it is not always easy to distinguish the limits of a previous dig. Geotextile creates an obvious marker between untouched and disturbed soil, while allowing the natural flow of rain water.
