The pine grove where the discoveries were made

Archéo-Mamu Côte-Nord
During a dig such as this one, carried in a wooden environment, vegetation is an important factor. As a matter of fact, roots can be an obstacle when a digger wants to excavate a nice square pit! More seriously, growing roots can shift the earth around them, hence the artifacts laying in it. So when there are a lot of roots, it might prove difficult to understand the earth accumulation process and the origin of the artifacts it contains.
