Construction of the Hochelaga interchange, 1966

Built slightly below ground level, as per the demands of the Sisters of Providence who worried about the noise, the Hochelaga interchange is one of the most complex highway designs in Montreal. Including at least a dozen overpasses, it led to the complete reconfiguration of Hochelaga Street, which used to run along the Souligny railway.
