Port Coquitlam (often known by its nickname “PoCo”) is located in the traditional territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwikwetlem) First Nation in the southwestern corner of British Columbia, not far from the city of Vancouver and the terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The city is surrounded by the Pitt, Fraser and Coquitlam rivers. This location where rivers meet rails has defined much of our city’s history.
