While the family standing on the porch is not named, it may well be that of David Brown, son of Hugh, who took over the farm from his father in 1901. Ferme des Coteaux was also known as “Ferme des Brown” (the Brown Farm) or “Ferme des Vergers” (Orchard Farm).
