This photo shows the Petit-Pré watermill circa 1925. The building—the third mill to be built on the site—still stands today. The first industrial mill was built here in 1695, on the orders of Monseigneur François de Laval, but was burned to the ground during the Conquest of New France, in 1759. The second mill, raised between 1760 and 1765, was, in turn, damaged by fire in 1877, only to be rebuilt.
