Magnavox Speaker, 1922

Loudspeaker, Magnavox (1922), United States, 78 x 46 x 46cm. Musée des ondes Emile Berliner.
This Magnavox loudspeaker would have been used with radio receivers in the 1920s in order to amplify the sound. The horn-shaped speaker is like those used in phonographs or gramophones. With loudspeakers, people could listen to radio together.
