The RMDC acknowledges that the names “Indian Flats” (the area between Red Mountain and Granite Mountain) and “Squaw Basin,” (the area between Granite and Grey Mountains), are derogatory and that the terms “Squaw” and “Indian” have historically been used as slurs against Indigenous people. The RMDC does not intend to offend by using this terminology within its historical context.
