Hydro-Quebecers
Hydro-Québec
Normand Choquette practised a profession he sincerely loved. Despite more difficult days, he worked his way up in the company and overcame obstacles.
As foreman, he was responsible for the safety of the other workers, managing the crews responsible for carrying out repair work on the Saint-Maurice power plants and dams. Spring flooding was particularly trying for him and his team. It was not uncommon for them to find themselves building dikes with both legs in the river.
Over the years, Mr. Choquette got to know the territory like no one else. On the sites that he took care of, he had seen every tree there.
Like the thousands of Hydro-Quebecers who ran the turbines by the sweat of their brow and with their hands worn from years of work, Mr. Choquette has the orange “Q” of Hydro-Québec tattooed on his heart.
