Ladies First

While the vast majority of the teams were made up of men, women gradually took part in the Classique internationale de canots de la Mauricie by joining mixed teams. Priscilla Clark was the first woman to enter the competition in 1970. She paved the way for many female canoeists who were ready to brave the river.
