Pow-wow

Conseil de la Nation Atikamekw, 2016
These Atikamekw women are gathered for a pow-wow in Manawan, 2016. These gatherings have long been a part of North American Indigenous culture. They were once used to build alliances and conduct trade. Although they have changed a lot, pow-wows are still very important because communities are able to reaffirm their origins and perpetuate their traditions through these gatherings.
