Unveiling of the Hart Monument

In October 1959, the Champlain Park in Trois-Rivières hosted the unveiling of the Hart monument, erected in memory of Ezekiel Hart. Son of the first Jewish family established in Canada, Hart distinguished himself on the Canadian scene. Elected in 1807 by Trifluvians, he was the first Jewish member to sit in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada.
