Ducey’s Root Cellar, Keels, Newfoundland

Owned by John and Phonse Ducey, this concrete above ground root cellar was built in the early 1950s and features a unique wooden braced exterior wall which holds back a layer of sod used for insulating the cellar.
The root cellar is unfortunately starting to degrade, revealing the concrete interior.
