Ross Traverse has a walk-in cool room in his house in Torbay, Newfoundland. Traverse built his walk-in cool room in the basement of his house in the early 1970s.

The interior of his walk-in cool room has many shelves that he uses to store his homemade wine, canned goods and preservatives, vegetables and berries he grows and harvests himself, along with a variety of household items.
