HMCS Oshawa Nameplate Returns Home
Source: Ship’s Nameplate Comes Home, Oshawa Times Extra, May 16, 1991.
Date: 1991
In 1996, HMCS Oshawa was broken up for scrap in Victoria Harbour and her nameplate was lost. A scuba diver scouring the bottom of the harbour found an old plate with the name Oshawa still visible.
The nameplate was returned to the Naval Veterans Club, located in Oshawa where it is on display with other mementoes of HMCS Oshawa.
