Ukrainian Children’s Band, 1940

The Ukrainian Children’s Band performed at an International Folk Dance program at the YMCA in Revelstoke on March 21, 1940, under the direction of Willie Cwikula. They played a number of Ukrainian melodies on mandolin, guitar, and accordion.
Among those in the photograph are Sophie, Leo, Joe, and Stephanie Shamon, Olga, Willie, Pete, and Mary Cwikula, Stephanie, Willie and Elsie Gawiuk, Elsie and Dan Hulyd, Stella Sytnyk, Annie Skrypnyk, and Mary Roman.
