Portrait of Gerald L. Bruck (1915-2013), president and CEO of Bruck Mills Limited. Born in New York on March 13, 1915, he is the eldest son of Isaac Bruck, founder of Bruck Silk Mills Limited. After the death of his father in 1948, he takes over the family business. Gerald Bruck quickly asserts himself as a respected leader not only to his employees but also as a spokesperson for the Canadian textile industry. He remains in office until the sale of the company to Japanese interests in 1973.
Gerald Bruck is also an art lover, collector and occasional painter. In 1956, he founded the Cowansville Art Center with Eugenie S. Lee, hence the name of the Bruck-Lee collection now on display at the Bruck Museum. In 2009, at the age of 94, he is proud to be present at the inauguration of the Bruck Museum, named in his honour.
