The Bruck family hands over control of the company

On February 7, 1975, The Gazette reports that the Bruck family has handed over control of the family business to Japanese interests: Toyobo Co. Ltd, a textile giant, and Marubeni Corporation, a company specializing in international trade. After 26 years as president of the company, Gerald L. Bruck, 59, is succeeded by the Japanese Toshikazu Yamaguchi, 47 at the time (and already a member of the executive board since September 1973). Gerald L. Bruck remains involved in the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Robert Bruck, Gerald’s brother and vice-president retires in 1974.
