Weaving on a shuttle loom

Eugène Mongeau, of the Weaving Department, adjusts a Jacquard loom following a warp beam change, circa 1950. Empty wooden bobbins can be seen on a small rack and three shuttles rest on a sheet of yarn. The deafening noise made by the moving shuttles on the loom is often mentioned by former workers. Protective equipment was not yet the norm at that time.
