Chair with Attached Tool Pouch and Embroidered Name of Seamstress

This chair was used in the Kenwood factory by a seamstress called “Lois”.  Women would sit in chairs like this hoop back to splice paper-makers’ felts into continuous loops. Their personalized pouches would hold tools, notebooks and pencils.
