The John A. McGean

This photograph shows the John A. McGean, one of the ships lost on Lake Huron in the Great Storm of 1913. The John A. McGean was built in 1908 by the American Shipbuilding Company and owned by the Pioneer Steamship Company. She was 432 feet long with a 52-foot beam. When she sank during the Great Storm of 1913, she took all 23 crew with her. The John A. McGean was eventually discovered in 1985 in Lake Huron just off Port Huron, Michigan.
