The Plymouth was built in 1854 by Ira Lafrinier of Ohio City, Ohio, and owned by McKinnon & Scott of Menominee, Michigan. She was 213 feet long with a beam of 35 feet. Her net tonnage was 744 and gross tonnage was 777.
