A.C. Practising Rope Tricks, 1931

This photograph was taken during A.C. and Barbara’s honeymoon in June of 1931. Barbara has written on the verso: “Ace takes his morning exercise the day he didn’t stay in bed.”

According to Barbara Leighton, one of the cowboys at the 1924 British Empire Exhibition modelled for A.C. and his colleagues. When not posing for the artists, the cowboy even taught A.C. rope tricks.
