A.C. Leighton was hired as a commercial artist by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1924. He would take three trips to Canada over the next four years to produce material for the CPR. The original pastel drawing of this train was used in a brochure encouraging people to travel to Canada via the CPR.
