Brian Flood: Hi my name is Brian Flood. I was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame this year, 2017, with my brother Henry, and I’m here to tell you a little but about the Paris Crew. This is the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Paris Crew’s win, which was seven days after confederation. They arrived in Paris and were complete underdogs, and beat the favoured Oxford, Cambridge, and German crews along with the legendary Parisians. The Paris Crew was a great inspiration to us, and also to other New Brunswick rowers and Canadian rowers. It was considered a good omen for Canada, when they won in Paris in 1867. Thank you.
