Although Rolland specialized in paper for printing, its product line extended to other uses. For several years, it made paper for various tobacco companies.
And while the company was not producing paper for bank notes at this time (as alluded to in the ad copy), it did develop that expertise some years later.

Any farther and a whole bunch of our paper would go up in smoke!
A large part of the paper we make is used to finish filter-tipped cigarettes. If you read our slogan, you’ll know we are specialized in paper for printing—and we always will be. But the fact remains that a significant amount of our paper has some unexpected uses, like decorating the ends of cigarettes.
If you have a product that you believe could be made out of paper, in whole or in part, or have plans to use paper in any project, talk to one of our specialists. We’ll start by telling you whether your idea is feasible. If it is, we’ll develop a formula and test it. You might save yourself a ton of money. (Keep in mind, however, that paper for printing bank notes is one of the rare kinds that we don’t make.)
