Recycled paper pulp must sometimes be de-inked, depending on product quality. When scrap paper is subjected to the de-inking process, ink particles are dislodged from the paper using chemicals, and then removed by washing. The resulting pulp may also be bleached, depending on the type of paper being manufactured. It then goes to the Saint-Jérôme recycled paper production facility.
