In 1972, the Rolland Company hosted Konstantin Galanshin, the Soviet minister of pulp and paper, whom the Canadian government had officially invited. The two-hour tour was led by Lucien Rolland, with two Ottawa-based interpreters accompanying the company president and translating for the minister. During the visit, Galanshin learned about Canadian fine paper production methods.
