The Seven Sacred Teachings painting by Métis visual artist Claire Beaulieu-Antoine.
Born and raised in the Wood Buffalo region, Claire started her journey in Fort Smith, Peace Point. Then, she moved to Fort Chipewyan and later settled into the Fort McMurray community. Claire brings the natural world and her history together with breathtaking colourful pieces.
The Seven Sacred Teachings and the Corresponding Creature:
1. The Eagle represents love and to know love is to find peace.
2. The Turtle represents knowing all teachings is to know the truth.
3. The Bear represents courage and to face life with integrity.
4. The Wolf represents humility and knowing yourself as a part of creation.
5. The Sabe/Raven represents honesty and facing a situation despite consequences.
6. The Buffalo represents respect and to honour all of creation is to know respect.
7. The Beaver represents wisdom and cherished knowledge.
